Condominium Insurance Coverage in Naples

Prepare for the 2013 Hurricane Season in Naples, Florida. NOAA ( anticipates 3 to 6 major hurricanes this season.

Please check your homeowner’s insurance policies. Are your policies in the correct name(s)? I recently handled an insurance claim where the client still had her dead husband on the policy. The insurance company refused to remove the dead husband’s name as a payee on the settlement check; even with the provided proof of the death certificate. Thankfully, the bank was more empathetic and cashed the check. Now, can you imagine if one of the payees was an ex spouse in a divorce case! Suppose you receive a huge insurance settlement and you have to approach your ex spouse to have he or she endorse the check. I don’t think so! So, please review the policy holders of your homeowner’s policy.
